Electrical inspections are the most common application for IR Technology. Its ideally suited for inspecting the health and integrity of electrical systems due to its non-contact, non-invasive nature to detect faults such as Phase imbalance; Overloading; Insulation defects; Defective components; Loose, corroded or incorrect connections.
Electrical current always generates a certain amount of heat within an electrical system, however an increased resistance caused by a loose or corroded connection for example will cause excessive heat that if left unchecked will result in electrical failure. Fortunately, we can detect these faults before they result in failure.

IR Technology is well suited for detecting abnormal heat patterns on mechanical machinery, particularly in hard-to-reach areas and on dangerous moving parts. Friction causes heat and problems such as Misaligned shafts, couplings and bearings; Under or over lubrication of bearings; Misaligned belts and pulleys; Defective, worn out bearings will all generate excessive heat which is easily detected using infrared technology. Typically, any mechanical problems detected using IR should be corrected immediately as the excessive heat indicates the problem to be at an advanced stage and failure could be imminent.
